Lynn Lyons - Anxiety and Depression in Teens and Children

Lynn Lyons, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who lives in Concord, New Hampshire and is in private practice there. For 20 years, Lynn has helped individuals, families, and groups overcome their anxiety, manage food and weight challenges, compete effectively, and parent confidently. She is a “how-to” therapist, and her workshops, seminars, and private sessions teach concrete skills and usable techniques.  Lynn’s approach combines her extensive knowledge of clinical hypnosis, with cognitive and strategic therapies to interrupt negative patterns and change lives for the better. Joani Geltman, MSW - an expert in the field of Child Development and parenting has been working with parents, children, universities, schools, and private and public companies for over 30 years. Ms Geltman has developed a course especially designed for parents on understanding their child's cognitive and emotional and social development. This popular course has been offered at many private and public schools and for community groups. Adolescent Psychology-The Parent Version is in great demand at schools and community groups all over Massachusetts. Ms Geltman has also developed a unique service for parents. "Ask the Expert" coffees or cocktail parties offers groups of parents the opportunity to meet in their homes, utilizing Ms Geltman's unique brand of "infotainment" to gain information about parenting issues important to themselves and their friends in a casual atmosphere.  www.joanigeltman.com


John Halligan - John and Kelly Halligan lost their thirteen year old son, Ryan, to suicide on October 7, 2003. At the time of his death, Ryan was a student at a middle school in Essex Junction, Vermont. It was revealed in much greater detail after Ryan’s death that he was ridiculed and humiliated by peers at school and on-line.In memory of his son, John spearheaded the Vermont Bully Prevention bill which was signed into law (ACT117) in May 2004 and only a few months after Ryan’s death . He also successfully led the passage of the law pertaining to mandatory suicide prevention education in public schools (ACT 114) in April 2006.  www.ryanpatrickhalligan.org 


Social Host Liability - The evening of March 10 is a parent-community forum titled “What Every Parent Should Know About Social Hosting Liability”.  Participants in the forum are:  North Andover High School staff, a representative from the law firm Campbell, Campbell, Edwards and Conroy, a representative from the district attorney's office. and the North Andover police dept.

Matt Bellace, Ph.D. - has been a youth motivational speaker and stand-up comedian since 1995. Dr. Bellace has a Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology from Drexel University, is a member of the National Speakers Association and is the author of the book, "A Better High." His "How to Get High Naturally" program encourages over a hundred thousand students a year to pursue natural highs and make healthy choices.
