The school budget is developed by the school staff under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools. The budget is then voted on by the School Committee and presented at Town Meeting as part of the Annual Town of North Andover Budget. The operating budget is supplemented by grants received by the school district as well as by the revenue generated by school fee programs such as Full-Day Kindergarten, Food Services, Community Programs, Athletics, and other programs.
The budget is organized in a Chart of Accounts using functional classifications required by the Department of Elementary and Seconday Education. It can be printed and studied in many ways, but the DESE account structure allows for consistent year-by-year and district-by-district comparisons.
