III. Math Models and Strategies

Mathematical Models

Students should be able to apply the math they know to solve problems arising in everyday life. As students work as mathematicians, they learn various problem-solving strategies and ways to model math for a deeper
understanding. In order to support you with helping your child at home, we have linked some documents that explain the models and strategies your child is learning in the classroom. Students progress from the use of concrete manipulatives and drawings to more abstract thinking and understanding of how algorithms work.
