North Andover Dramatic Arts Program

Fall Festival of Shakespeare Video Clips

Arielle Evans, a 2009 North Andover High School graduate, has produced what she calls "a mashup of my favorite audio clips of Shakespeare & Company's Kevin Coleman from interviews and videos past, mixed over footage I shot at Fall Festival 2011 in Lenox, MA." The video clips can be found on online where Arielle highlights the educational importance of student involvment in the arts. Specifically, she highlights the Harvard Graduate School of Education's monograph called "Stand and Unfold Yourself," which is published beginning on page 93 in "Champions of Change: The Impact of the Arts on Learning."

North Andover high school students have participated in the Lenox Fall Festival of Shakespeare for the past 27 years. The productions are a highlight of the dramatic arts program at NAHS.

NAHS Drama Guild Presents Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale

After performing The Winters Tale for our community last week, 59 members of the Drama Guild traveled to Lenox, MA for the weekend to participate in Shakespeare & Company's 22nd annual Fall Festival of Shakespeare. The Fall Festival, which ran from November 18-21, is a non-competitive venue where after completing a nine week residency program, ten schools get together in support of each other and perform various plays written by William Shakespeare. This is North Andover's 17th year participating in the program, performing live plays for the public on Shakespeare & Company's Founder's Theatre Mainstage.

Led by Adviser Linda Curtin, North Andover students, some four year veterans, some first time performers, were extremely thrilled and elated to be in Lenox meeting old friends and making new ones being a part of a truly unique and educational experience that is Fall Festival.

An article on the Shakespeare drama performances at the high school can be found at the North Andover site of patch.com.
