Dear Franklin School Kindergarten Families,
I hope you and your child are enjoying a fun summer while anticipating the start of school! Our kindergarten teachers have been working extremely hard to plan an exciting and enriching year. The name of your child’s teacher will be emailed to each of you through School Messenger on Monday, August 18th. You can also expect to receive a post card in the mail from his or her teacher shortly after that date.
An important component of entering school is parent involvement. In order to ensure that you have the opportunity to have all of your questions and concerns addressed prior to the start of school, Franklin will hold a New Family Orientation on August 27th from 6:30-7:30 pm in our cafeteria. Please join us for this parents only presentation. It will include a general review of Franklin’s procedures for: arrival, dismissal, safety, illness, visitors and lunch. If you are unable to attend, please be assured that I will also meet with Kindergarten parents while the children are meeting their teachers and getting to know their classrooms on September 2nd.
On the school website, you will find the following:
- Important Dates to Remember
- Invitation/Schedule for class visit day on September 2nd
- NAPS 2014-2015 Calendar
- Dismissal Form – Please bring a completed dismissal form to the classroom visit on September 2nd. Your child’s teacher must have this information prior to the first day of school.
Please have your child wear a nametag on the first day of school, September 3rd. Please write your child’s first and last name, including what you would like them to be called by teachers and classmates (e.g. “Joe”).
Thank you for taking the time to read through all of these materials. I look forward to meeting you and your child and to having a great school year! Have an amazing end to your summer vacation!
Joe Clarke, Principal
