Our Reading unit this month will be Spring is Here.
Our big books, poems and writing will focus on planting and the life cycle of a butterfly.We have discussed the life cycle of a plant, parts of a plant and even did a little experimenting with planting. The kids loved getting dirty!
Please continue to practice reading the days of the week, color words, high frequency words and environmental print. Your help does make a difference.
Our Math unit continues to focus on Time and Money. Things to help at home: Ask you child to make a schedule of what time they wake up, eat lunch, go to school etc.
Our Science unit this month will be Caring for our Earth. We will also be celebrating Earth and Arbor Day. There will be an assembly on May 7th. PM Kindergarten is encouraged to attend. It will begin at 10 and end at 11. If you decide to come please walk your child down the classroom and then you will meet them in the cafeteria.
In the writing center the children have focused on being able to write their first and last name. We worked on spelling our names and remembering that only the first letter is capitalized. Please encourage this at home.
I will begin report card and Dibel testing within the next two weeks.
Mothers Day Tea will be held on Friday, May 8th from 12:30-1:30. Please let me know if you cannot attend.
