Innisbrook Fundraising
A primary PTO fundraiser (along with the fall Direct Donation Drive and Spring Social) is the fall wrapping paper and gift sale.
The fundraising committee organizes the distribution of the catalogs, coordinates orders and distribution of the purchases to the students.

Ice Cream Social
The PTO sponsors and ice cream social in the fall, where families come to the cafeteria during the Book Fair Night and enjoy ice cream with members of The Franklin Community. (There is a nominal cost with this event)
The committee coordinateness the purchasing of food and beverage for the event and runs the event by organizing tickets sales, serving of ice cream and clean up for the night of the event.

Scholastic Book Fair
The PTO sponsors two book fairs during the year, which are a weeklong event in the school library. The spring book fair is usually a buy one get on free sale.
The committee works with Scholastic Books to run the fair and needs many volunteers during the week of the fair to help with the set up, book purchasing and breakdown of the event.

School Beautification
This committee makes sure the outside of the school is welcoming by coordinating the Fall and Spring clean –up of the landscaping around the school and playground.
This committee also plans and implements any outdoor projects, seasonal plantings and decorations.

Community Involvement
The Community Involvement Committee works to raise the social awareness of our children and to provide aide to our neighbors in need. A food drive in November helps to supply needy families with Thanksgiving diner. In November/December we have the Anton’s Coat Drive. Followed by a Personal Care Drive in March/April supplies soap, shampoo and other products to needy families.
The Community Involvement Committee coordinates charitable collections from classrooms via baskets provided to each classroom.
The committee posts the details in Monthly Minutes and on our school web site. At the end of each drive the committee works with the students to collect the items and arrange pick ups with each charity.

5th Grade Activities
There are many special activities in which the 5th grade participates to mark the end of their elementary school years. The 5th grade class conducts their own fundraising to support their events. Many parents work with the 5th grade chairs and teachers to run these activities.

Literacy Library
Franklin School is fortunate to have a Literacy Library filled with guided reading books broken down by reading levels. This library is accessed ONLY BY TEACHERS who can borrow books for their students to read in class. Volunteers work with the school’s literacy staff to sort and catalogue books and re-shelve them with they are returned by the teachers.
There is no student interaction.

Franklin Spirit Wear
This committee is responsible for the sale of Franklin Sprit wear during the year. This includes advertising, placing non- web orders and separation and distribution of orders upon receipt.

Variety Show
The Franklin School Variety Show is a fun family evening where our children perform their various talents on stage for their Franklin admirers. The children love this event and conspire during the year on what their big act will be. PTO volunteers organize and run this event supervising the children at rehearsal and the big night.

Box Tops
The PTO participates in the General Mills Box Top for Education Program through which children collect box tops from home and return them to school, where they are collected and redeemed for 10 cents each! The PTO coordinating this effort oversees the collection and submission of the box tops to General Mills, and comes up with exciting ways to encourage the children to participate.

Enrichment Council
The North Andover Schools Enrichment Council is a non- profit volunteer’s organization made up of three to four parent representatives from each of the North Andover Schools. NASEC provides enrichment programming in the arts and sciences for the students of North Andover.

Kids Art Work Fundraiser
As another PTO fundraiser, this will give parents the opportunity to order their child’s work of art on various items for home, work or gifts. Art tiles may also be ordered and incorporated in the tile wall created in the cafeteria.
The Kids Art Work Chair and the Art Teacher will assist the students in creating their artwork during school and the distribution of the purchases to the students.

FUN RUN
The Franklin Fun Run is another Franklin tradition that our children look forward to during the year. It is held at the school during the mooring of a ½ curriculum day in May. Promoting health and exercise, our children run laps around the playing fields, earning donations from sponsors for each lap completed. Family and friends attend to cheer the children on! This is a great school spirit event where the children raise money for a designated charity and to support a specific school acquision, such as books for the library, playground equipment etc.
The Fun Run chairperson oversees the event, provides information to teachers and parents, collects the pledges, arranges for refreshments and water for the runners, and oversees the volunteers at the event. Many event day volunteers are needed to hand out water to the runners and mark off each lap a child takes.

Teacher Appreciation
This committee overseas the weeklong event funded by the PTO to honor our teachers and staff.
The committee arranges for bake goods to be donated each morning for the teacher’s to enjoy in the teachers room. The week cumulates with a catered luncheon and gift presentation. The committee plans the menu and purchases the teacher gifts and coordinates clean up.

Chair Person in charge of “Teacher’s Room”:
This person is in charge of keeping the Teacher’s Room filled with goodies through out the week. Having the room decorated with table clothes and flowers along with breakfast items is appreciated. This Chair is asked to have the room cleaned up after breakfast and have afternoon snacks left out for the teachers to enjoy.

Year Book
The Franklin Yearbook is published at the end of the year and includes all the class pictures and many memories of the year. The Yearbook Committee coordinates the projects and layouts and works with the publisher. Committee members take photos of school events through out the year, and create page layouts for each grade and school event. This is a self funded PTO project and not a fundraiser.

Franklin Communtiy Access and Media
The committee video tapes Franklin events and works with North Andover CAM to air footage on local cable.

Room Parent
Room parents play an important role in the life of Franklin School. Each classroom has at least one room parent, depending on the teacher’s need. The room parents organize 4 parties in the classroom throughout the year (Halloween, Holiday, Valentine’s Day, and Year –end) as well as provide help at the teacher’s request.

Holiday Social
The Holiday Social is a fun family evening event, which has become a much –anticipated tradition for the Franklin community. The PTO sponsors and funds this family night. There are crafts and games and refreshments and the much anticipated secret shopping where the children can purchase very inexpensive holiday gifts for family and friends. There is the traditional Cookie Stroll where parents can purchase selections of cookies baked by Franklin Families. Many volunteers are need for the event to set up the shopping, help with the crafts and games, serve the food and help with clean up.
