Writing in the Elementary Grades
: To facilitate understanding of the assessment of elementary writing projects, teachers have developed rubrics that assess your child's writing using 6 essential standards. These standards can be studied in the writing curriculum link below. In addition, teachers have posted "Anchor Papers" that demonstrate actual student writing and the performance indicators given under each essential standard. You can use these "anchor papers" to help your child understand how to improve writing skills.

Homework Guidelines PDF Print E-mail

The North Andover Public School Department recognizes that there is a very high correlation between academic achievement and the amount of time, energy and effort a student spends working on class work assigned by the classroom teacher. The school department believes that homework is part of a total instructional experience and, as an extension of the classroom, is intended to enrich and extend the student initiative.  To that end, Homework Guidelines have been developed.
