Welcome to NAPAC PDF Print E-mail
Welcome to the North Andover Parent Advisory Council (NAPAC)! Whether you are just starting to learn about special education or you have been receiving services for many years, it is important to  be educated  about your child’s disability, educational programs and services, your rights, and, available resources.

Parent Advisory Councils for Special Education are mandated under Massachusetts Special Education Regulation 603 CMR 28.07 (4). Specifically:
"Each school district shall create a district-wide parent advisory council offering membership to all parents of eligible students and other interested parties. The parent advisory council duties shall include but not be limited to: advising the district on matters that pertain to the education and safety of students with disabilities: and, meeting regularly with school officials to participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of the school district's special education programs.”
In addition to meeting with school personnel, NAPAC wants to bring resources, information and support to the parents in the community whose children are on IEP’s or 504 plans, or who have questions that relate to special education or raising a child with special needs.
Please spend some time looking at all the information on our web site. Check out the Calendar of Events which is updated frequently with numerous workshops and trainings in the area. The Recreation Guide is an extensive listing of social and recreational programs for your child. The list of Resources and Links is a good place to start when looking for information.
We are always looking for your input. Please join us at the monthly business meetings with the North Andover Director of Special Education. Also, the Questionnaire is available for you to let us know what type of information you need. Finally, take a minute to sign up for E-News from the Special Education Department and NAPAC (these are 2 separate lists). This list is completely confidential and will provide you with up to date information related to special education in North Andover.
Feel free to contact us via email at NorthAndoverPAC@comcast.net if we can be of assistance.
