June 12th Field Day – Come celebrate the end of the school year with the children of Kittredge & join the PTO and staff in breaking ground for the new modulars!! All children will play field games and 5 th graders will play the staff & parents in a game of kickball!!! To volunteer to help, see the flyer that went home in your child’s backpack. Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and PTO Meeting - June 11th 8:45am – 9:30am – Come join us for the last PTO meeting of the school year and also enjoy breakfast provided by the teachers & staff to show appreciation for all that you, our volunteers, do for the Kittredge community.
Smartboard Update - Due to the success of the Spring Fling this year, we were able to order 4 Smartboards. On May 20th the four Smartboards were installed at Kittredge. In the past 2 years we have added 8 Smartboards to classrooms at Kittredge!! Thank you for your continued support of PTO activities!!
The Tanglewood Marionnettes will present the classic fairy tale “Cinderella” on Wednesday, June 17 at 1:30 pm. Since this is an afternoon performance, we invite kindergarteners and their parents in our morning program to come back for the show! Nurse Update - Illness - Over the past week, there have been an increase in absences and illnesses with flu- like symptoms at Kittredge School. We are asking your cooperation to prevent the spread of illness at the school. In addition to reinforcing proper hand washing and cough etiquette, please assess all family members for flu symptoms each morning. Students with influenza-like illness (fever plus cough, sore throat, or runny nose) should stay home and not attend school. All such students should stay out of school for at least 7 days even if their symptoms resolve sooner. Students who are still sick at 7 days should continue to stay home from school or other community activities until at least 24 hours after they have completely recovered. Please call the Health Office at 978-794-3849 with any questions.
Kittredge Yard and Craft Sale - June 13th 9:00a.m. to Noon - Come to sell or shop! Open to yard salers, crafters and vendors. 12’ x 12’ spaces are still available for $20. Enrichment Council - The North Andover Schools' Enrichment Council (a non-profit volunteer group that funds art, music and science performances in the schools) is seeking several key volunteers for the 2009-2010 calendar year. The group meets monthly and is looking for volunteers to assist with booking performances, publicity, fundraising and accounting. Chess Club Coordinator Needed - Are you looking for a way to get involved with the children at Kittredge? Do you enjoy playing chess? We need a chess club coordinator for the next school year. There have been 15-20 kids involved in chess club for the past couple of years and our faithful coordinator has chosen to retire. The group meets once per week before school, but can be flexible. The North Andover Historical Society's Beyond the Garden Gate 2009 - Saturday, June 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 1st at 153 Academy Road (at the rotary). North Andover Youth Hockey League is now accepting applications for the 2009-2010 season for both boys and girls for all hockey programs. North Andover Soccer – There are spots available on fall 2009 U10 and U11 girls MAPLE teams with local training and a National “D” License / National Youth License coach, volunteer-driven. The Treble Chorus of New England" is a local 30 years old non-profit organization with an amazing mission: to teach children ages 6 through 18, how to sing magnificently! This choral group focuses on classic and fine music. The children meet for rehearsals and prepare for choral shows and Operas, that they will present throughout the year. The Chorus is currently auditioning children on June 24th. North Andover Historical Society Membership Drive - Most of your children will participate in programs by the North Andover Historical Society during their school days. Whether making butter in second grade at the Johnson Cottage, experiencing a one-room schoolhouse in third grade or playing house detective at the Parson Barnard House in fourth grade, we strive to bring local history to life. We are a privately supported, non-profit organization and offer our programs to North Andover school children below our cost. We need community support now more than ever to enable us to update our exhibits and to repair and maintain our buildings. You can help by becoming a member today.
