Note that these scholarships are DIFFERENT from the scholarships in our NAHS Naviance Scholarship Program.
The following scholarships are offered by local and national organizations. More detailed information on these scholarships is available on the websites listed below and also in the Guidance Office. Please note that deadlines and specific requirements for each of the scholarships differ greatly. It is the responsibility of the student to make certain that their applications and supporting documents are complete.
This list is updated daily, as scholarship opportunities for the Class of 2015 come in to Guidance, so check back often. Updated as of January 26, 2015.
COLLEGE SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS - NOTE: Some may require a school nomination.
University of Dayton Leadership in Service Scholarship Program: Mission of program is to develop servant leaders by encouraging students to connect scholarship and learing with leadership and service. You must apply to the University of Dayton and request a nomination by your guidance counselor. Deadline for nomination: January 31, 2015
NON-COLLEGE SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS
American College Foundation: Visionary Scholarship Program - requires application, school transcript, and essay. Several scholarships from $1,000 - $5,000 each. Application available on their website: www.americancollegefoundation.org Use Invitation Code to Apply: M7732 Deadline: April 1, 2015
Henry David Thoreau Scholars Program: for seniors planning to pursue environmental studies in college. This includes the following areas: oceanography, green architecture, conservation biology and alternative energy. Thoreau scholars also participate in study abroad programs and gain work experience through internships, which reinforce an environmental undergraduate experience. The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund: The fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need. Successful candidates are those who display academic achievement, service to others, good character, leadership qualities, and a willingness to contribute to college, personal and/or family expenses. Applications will be posted on the Stephen Phillips website www.phillips-scholarships.org in early January 2015. Information also available in Guidance. Red Pine Scholarship: for students from low to middle-income families in Massachusetts who have demonstrated academic excellence and are planning to attend competitive colleges as freshmen in the fall of 2015. Order Sons of Italy in America - Charitable and Educational Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts: Note that while some of these scholarships are reserved for the children and grandchildren of members, there are a number of scholarships available regardless of affiliation with the Order Sons of Italy in America. Yawkey Foundation Scholarship: program is designed to make college affordable for talented, motivated, low-income students from Massachusetts. This is a four-year renewable tuition scholarship intended for students who: have a strong academic record, or demonstration of significant improvement over time, who are planning to attend a competitive private college in Massachusetts, who are engaged in a meaningful mentoring relationship and who have unmet financial need. North Andover Merchants Association 2015 Scholarship: $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a male AND female senior who are seeking to advance their education in the field of buisness. An essay, transcript and resume or list of activities as well as a completed application are required for this scholarship. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline: March 7, 2015
North Andover Merchants Association Entrepreneur Award 2015: $500 award to one senior who has established a business in North Andover. Completed application, essay and references are required. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline: March 7, 2015
Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarship: for graduating students interested in pursuing a degree in Foodservice or a Hospitality related program. The application can be found at: www.massrestaurantassoc.org and will be available after January 1. Deadline for submission: April 3, 2015
Newburyport Choral Society Betty Gillette Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior who plans to major in music in college. Application can be downloaded from: http://www.newburyportchoralsociety.org Deadline: March 25, 2015.
The Debra Luongo Scholarship Fund: Offered by Hair's How, Modern School of Beauty, this scholarship is available to any graduating senor who interested in the field of cosmetology. Application available in Guidance. Deadline: March 31, 2014
Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias: Humanitarian Award: three $1,000 scholarships available; based on altruistic services to the community. Requirements: send a written resume of achievements and short essay two recommendations. Application requirements available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015

Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for future college students who played sports at the high school level. This year's high school seniors are eligible to apply if they will be attending college next year. League of Essex County Sportsmen's Clubs: a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior entering in a program toward a bachelor or higher degree in a field important to the scientific management of wildlife or wildlife habitat. Application available in Guidance. Deadline: March 3, 2015
Edwin A. Buthmann Memorial Scholarship: To a graduating senior who will pursue careers in professional scouting and/or a profession related to social or community services with an emphasis on counseling or educating youth. The award will reimburse the cost of textbooks and related educational materials. Transcript, recommendations and essay required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
Robert L. Himber Memorial Scholarship: To assist graduating seniors who are studying foreign languages with teh intention of entering the field of education and or international business. Transcript, recommendations and essay required. The award will reimburse the cost of textbooks and related educational materials. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
National Aviation Academy - Charles E. Taylor Memorial Scholarship: to recognize and encourage students to pursue career skills for the Aviation Maintenance Global Marketplace. The scholarship is dedicated to promoting the future of aviation, more specifically, highly trained A&P Mechanics. Applications in Guidance. Deadline: April 24, 2015.
Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship: several scholarships available for prospective graduating seniors in the Greater Lawrence community who are applying to entry level program in Nursing (BSN). Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
North Shore Women in Business (NSWIB) Scholarship: a $1,000 scholarship available to a graduating high school senior pursuing a college education in the field of Business or related studies. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: February 28, 2015.
Joe Cleres Memorial Scholarship from New Outlook Pioneers: scholarships for graduating seniors who have a disability either mentally or physically challenged. There is no financial qualification. Awards will range from $500 to $2,000. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: March 14, 2015. NEW
The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts: a $500 scholarship to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two or four year college program. Letters of reference, transcript and essay required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: March 15, 2015.
Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902: applicant must be a current member of the Junior Division of Lodge 902 or children or grandchildren of current members of the Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902. The $1,000 award will be based on scholastic ability, financial need, character, personal essay and activities. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: March 31, 2015.
Topsfield Fair & Essex Agricultural Society Scholarships:
1) Essex Agricultural Society Scholarship: 25 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Application, transcript, resume and essay are required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015
2) Charles E. Larner Family Foundation Scholarship: for high school seniors pursuing Agriculture in Vegetable or Animal Production in college. Two $2,000 awards, one male, one female. You must have worked on a farm or in that field, for at least one growing season to be eligible. Name of employer, employer reference and 250 word essay and application required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015.
