Note that these scholarships are DIFFERENT from the scholarships in our NAHS Naviance Scholarship Program.
The following scholarships are offered by local and national organizations. More detailed information on these scholarships is available on the websites listed below and also in the Guidance Office. Please note that deadlines and specific requirements for each of the scholarships differ greatly. It is the responsibility of the student to make certain that their applications and supporting documents are complete.

NEW - Methuen Memorial Music Hall Scholarships: Two college scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to Merrimack Valley high school seniors planning to major in music, musical performance or music education. Application information available in Guidance. Deadline: May 15, 2014

Essex County Fire Wardens Association - Phillip A Wood Memorial Scholarship: for high school seniors seeking a degree in the following areas of study: Forestry, Botany, Horticulture, Soil Service, Plant Biology, Conservation, Watershed Management, Wildlife Biology, Animal and Veterinary Services, Park and Recreation Management, Fire Suppression and Fire Prevention. Requirements: application, transcript, college acceptance letter, and 3 letters of reference. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: May 3, 2014

Empire Beauty School Scholarships: for seniors attending Empire Beauty School after graduation and pursuing a career in cosmetology. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: May 1, 2014
Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen, MA Scholarships: of varying amounts, applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Have a family member who is in good standing at the Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen; extra-curricular activities; career plans; essays, transcript and resume also required. League of Essex County Sportsmen's Clubs Scholarships: $500 Scholarship. Applicant must be majoring in a field of study toward a Bachelor's Degree or higher in a field of interest to sportsmen including: Game Biology; Game Management; Fish Biology and Fish Culture Management and Propagation, either in land or marine waters; Forestry Management and Culture; Conservation of Forests and Land; Environmental Law Enforcement. Merrimack Valley Striders Scholarships: Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 are open to high school seniors who have particiated in cross-country, indoor track or outdoor track. Applicants must complete a Personal Profile Form/Application, and write a one-page essay on the subject, "What Running Means to Me". Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 21, 2014
St. Alfio, Filadelfo, Cirino Scholarship Award: applicant must be a member in good standing of the graduating class and must have been accepted at an accredited school of higher learning. The award is based on the following criteria: scholastic ability, financial need, character and community involvement and school and outside activities. Applications available in Guidance. Northern Essex Community College is offering two scholarships for incoming freshmen
1. NECC Foundation, Inc. Incoming Freshman Scholarship: (awards range from $500 - $1,000) Criteria: minimum GPA 2.5. Must be registered for at least 6 credits in the fall. Submit a transcript, one letter of recommendation, and a brief typed personal statement addressing the following: a. Describe your educational and career goals and b. Describe how a scholarship from NECC will help you achieve those goals.
2. NECC Alumni Association Incoming Freshman Scholarship: (3 awards available at $1,000) Criteria: minimum GPA 3.0. Must be registered for at least 9 credits in the fall. Submit a transcript, one letter of recommendation and a brief typed personal statement addressing the following: a. Describe your educational and career goals and b. Describe how a scholarship from NECC will help you achieve those goals.

2014 Student-View Scholarship Program - Several scholarships offered - Log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15 - 20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. Flyer available in Guidance. Deadline: April 20, 2014.
Luso American Credit Union Scholarship - Any current member of the Credit Union is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Anyone who is not a member, but resides in Essex County may join the Credit Union and become eligible. Transcript, personal statement, proof of college acceptance, three letters of recommendation, and information on extracurricular activities or community involvement required. Lawrence Vietnam Memorial Scholarship: Requirements: must be a high school senior, and must submit an essay in 100 words or less describing "What a Veteran means to me". Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: May 4, 2014
Steven Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund: Fund offers a renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need. Successful candidates are those who display academic achievement, service to others, good character, leadership qualities, and a willingness to work to contribute to college, personal and/or family expenses. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Awards range from $3,000 - $15,000. Transcript, recommendations, FAFSA SAR report, college financial aid award letter, tax returns, and resume are required. Rotary District 7930 Service Above Self Scholarship: Members of the NAHS Interact Club are eligible to apply. The purpose is to recognize an outstanding high school senior who has demonstrated his/her commitment to Service Above Self in their community, a town or city with Rotary District 7930, and financial assist the recipient with his/her future studies with this $10,000 scholarship.
