Note that these scholarships are DIFFERENT from the scholarships in our NAHS Naviance Scholarship Program.
The following scholarships are offered by local and national organizations. More detailed information on these scholarships is available on the websites listed below and also in the Guidance Office. Please note that deadlines and specific requirements for each of the scholarships differ greatly. It is the responsibility of the student to make certain that their applications and supporting documents are complete.

American College Foundation: Visionary Scholarship Program - requires application, school transcript, and essay. Several scholarships from $1,000 - $5,000 each. Application available on their website: www.americancollegefoundation.org Use Invitation Code to Apply: M7732 Deadline: April 1, 2015
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund: The fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students from New England with financial need. Successful candidates are those who display academic achievement, service to others, good character, leadership qualities, and a willingness to contribute to college, personal and/or family expenses. Applications will be posted on the Stephen Phillips website www.phillips-scholarships.org in early January 2015. Information also available in Guidance. Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarship: for graduating students interested in pursuing a degree in Foodservice or a Hospitality related program. The application can be found at: www.massrestaurantassoc.org and will be available after January 1. Deadline for submission: April 3, 2015
Newburyport Choral Society Betty Gillette Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior who plans to major in music in college. Application can be downloaded from: http://www.newburyportchoralsociety.org Deadline: March 25, 2015.
The Debra Luongo Scholarship Fund: Offered by Hair's How, Modern School of Beauty, this scholarship is available to any graduating senor who interested in the field of cosmetology. Application available in Guidance. Deadline: March 31, 2014
Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias: Humanitarian Award: three $1,000 scholarships available; based on altruistic services to the community. Requirements: send a written resume of achievements and short essay two recommendations. Application requirements available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015

Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for future college students who played sports at the high school level. This year's high school seniors are eligible to apply if they will be attending college next year. Edwin A. Buthmann Memorial Scholarship: To a graduating senior who will pursue careers in professional scouting and/or a profession related to social or community services with an emphasis on counseling or educating youth. The award will reimburse the cost of textbooks and related educational materials. Transcript, recommendations and essay required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
Robert L. Himber Memorial Scholarship: To assist graduating seniors who are studying foreign languages with teh intention of entering the field of education and or international business. Transcript, recommendations and essay required. The award will reimburse the cost of textbooks and related educational materials. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
National Aviation Academy - Charles E. Taylor Memorial Scholarship: to recognize and encourage students to pursue career skills for the Aviation Maintenance Global Marketplace. The scholarship is dedicated to promoting the future of aviation, more specifically, highly trained A&P Mechanics. Applications in Guidance. Deadline: April 24, 2015.
Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship: several scholarships available for prospective graduating seniors in the Greater Lawrence community who are applying to entry level program in Nursing (BSN). Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902: applicant must be a current member of the Junior Division of Lodge 902 or children or grandchildren of current members of the Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902. The $1,000 award will be based on scholastic ability, financial need, character, personal essay and activities. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: March 31, 2015.
Topsfield Fair & Essex Agricultural Society Scholarships:
1) Essex Agricultural Society Scholarship: 25 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Application, transcript, resume and essay are required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015
2) Charles E. Larner Family Foundation Scholarship: for high school seniors pursuing Agriculture in Vegetable or Animal Production in college. Two $2,000 awards, one male, one female. You must have worked on a farm or in that field, for at least one growing season to be eligible. Name of employer, employer reference and 250 word essay and application required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015.
Student-View Scholarship Program: for seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. Go to: www.student-view.com and complete a 15 - 20 minute application survey about colleges in our area. Deadline: April 22, 2015.
Merrimack Valley Partners in Service Scholarship: MVPS is a volunteer organization of women, participating in service projects and activities to benefit our local community. The scholarship committee will consider the applicant's participation in community service, academic achievement and strength of character in selecting the scholarship recipients. North Shore Players Memorial Scholarship for the Performing Arts: To be granted to a graduating senior who plans to major in the performing arts. An application, letter of recommendation from someone outside of school, a letter of reference from a school teacher or administrator, transcript and essay on choice of major are required. Humane Society of the United States: Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship: $2,500 scholarship is awarded to New England high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time. Application information is available in Guidance. Deadline: March 25, 2015
Susan L. King Scholarship: Through the support of the YWCA of Greater Lawrence and the Women's Leadership Network at Alcatel-Lucent, the Susan L. King Scholarship Committee awards one $3,000 scholarship each year. The applicant must be a female and have been accepted as a first-year student at an accredited college or university in an Engineering or Science related curriculum. Only Core Sciences such as biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics qualify. Allied health majors and mental health majors DO NOT QUALIFY. Salem Animal Rescue League Hayes Family Scholarship: $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school student who is pursing an education in the animal sciences, pre-veterinary programs, veterinary technology or a related field in college. Saint Alfio, Filadelfo, and Cirino Scholarship: The applicant must be a member in good standing of the graduating class, and must have been accepted at an accredited higher school of learning. The award will be based on the following criteria: scholastic ability, financial need, character and community involvement, school and outside activities. Applications are available in Guidance. The Town of North Andover Republican Town Committee James Gammie Memorial Scholarship: Open to any graduating senior who is a resident of the Town of North Andover going on to a four year college or university who has demonstrated leadership skills, participated in community service and has shown good overall citizenship. Please submit a short essay on "WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN?" Copy of transcript, GPA and rank, essay and application required. Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program: Application must be a Massachusetts resident and graduating senior enrolled to plan to enroll at an accredited two or four-year school with a major or intention of studying over-the-air broadcasting. The student need not attend school in Massachusetts to be eligible. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 3, 2015
Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement Scholarship: $500 scholarship for students to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. See applications for further criteria. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015

Lawrence Vietnam Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be a high school senior. Application and essay in 100 words or less: "What a Veteran Means to Me". Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: May 2, 2015
Matthew McCarthy Memorial Scholarship: For any senoir attending high school that needs financial assistance to attend college or technical school. Student must demonstrate extraordinary school spirit. They should be well respected among their teachers and peers. Requires a recommendation by a teacher or peer. GPA and essay required. Northern Essex Community College Scholarships: Two different scholarships being offered with multiple recipients for each. NECC Foundation, Inc. Incoming Freshman Scholarship & NECC Alumni Association Incoming Freshman Scholarship. Transcript, counselor or teacher recommendation, application to NECC, scholarship application and brief personal statement describing your educational and careers goals AND how a scholarship from NECC will help you achieve those goals. Sargent Improvement Club: The Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen, MA will be awarding scholarships in various amounts to graduating seniors using the following criteria: have a family member who is a member in good standing at the Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen, activities and community service, and grades an academic qualifications. Rotary District 7930: $10,000 Service Above Self Scholarship: The award serves to recognize an outstanding high school senior who has demonstrated his/her commitment to SERVICE ABOVE SELF in his/her town/community. it is designed to encourage the recipient to dedicate his/her professional life and personal life to improving the quality of life of people in his/her community and beyond. Potential applicants will be interviewed by the North Andover Rotary Club and one applicant will be submitted to a pool of applicants considered by the District. Josephine I. Rizzo Scolarship: Presented by the Lawrence Ladies Lodge, #2026, Order Sons of Italy in American and sponsored by the Service Center of Greater Lawrence, Inc. Three scholarships at $1,500 each are available. Scholarship is based on financial need, scholastic ability and community involvement. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 21, 2015
Methuen Festival of Trees Scholarship: Applicant must be a resident of the Merrimack Valley who is a high school senior. Criteria include: strength and quality of essay, activities and community service, grades and academic qualifications, financial need, volunteers of the Methuen Festival of Trees and students pursuing studies in historic preservation and restoration will receive special consideration. AMSI Foundation Inc. Educators Scholarship in Memory of Anne Galimi - Applicant must be a senior in the Merrimack Valley Area planning to attend a two or four year college or a continuing education program in the education field. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a B (3.0). Essay, application, resume, transcript and 2 letters of recommendation (one from a teacher and one pertaining to involvement in the community) are required. Applications available in Guidance. AMSI Foundation Inc. Leadership Scholarship - Applicant must be a senior in high school in the Merrimack Valley Area who has shown leadership skills in their school or community and plans to attend a two or four year college. AACN Critical Care Nursing Scholarship: Two scholarships of $1,000 each. AACN is a group of local critical care nurses ho have joined together to support and enhance nursing knowledge, practice and professional achievement. Phil Guza Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be a graduating senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in math or science. Questionnaire, transcript, SAT/ACT scores, resume, letter of recommendation and essay required. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline: April 15, 2015
2015 Arts Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior. Requirements: must be accepted to a college, university or art school, be planning to major in art or a related study, produce 3 examples of their art work to be viewed by the judges, be recommended by a teacher or guidance counselor, complete and submit an application and essay.
