Parent Volunteers
The North Andover Middle School PTAC appreciates its parent volunteers; they are considered its most valuable resource.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to assist with various enrichment programs, extracurricular activities and celebrations.  Volunteer sign-up sheets are available to parents during Move-Up Night in the spring and Open Houses in the fall.  Additionally, a request for volunteers is often sought by committee chairs prior to events.  Team teachers wishing to invite volunteers into their classroom will coordinate the effort with parents through their individual team communications.

Magazine Drive
This is the one major fundraiser at the Middle School.  We rely on these sales, along with direct donations, to solely fund our annual budget.  It is a Middle School tradition and has a strong following and commitment from the community, which helps to maintain its success.  Volunteers are needed to collect and tally orders and to give out prizes to students.  Tally days are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays, Prize Days follow on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Volunteers are needed, for all days over the two week drive, to make this fundraiser run smoothly.

Holiday Brunch
Volunteers are needed to set up, decorate, serve, cook and clean up for this December staff, holiday celebration.

NAMS Week Book Fair
Assistance is needed to set up, assist students during their visit and check out books purchased.  This fair is held every day for one week during school hours and Wednesday evening during Middle School Week.  Volunteers can sign up for shifts that fit their schedule.

Teacher Appreciation Week Breakfasts
Volunteers help with the set up, preparation of foods, and clean up of breakfasts which are served in the Teacher’s Room Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
This luncheon takes place on the Wednesday, half day of school in May.  Volunteers are needed for the morning to set up, decorating, serving, baking and clean up.

School Beautification/ Landscaping
PTAC has retained the services of a professional landscaper for the major weeding, trimming, and mulching of our landscape areas.  Volunteers are needed to oversee that the grounds are looking kept by the landscaper and to maintain the pots outside the doors seasonally with different plantings.

After Hours Program Liaison
This volunteer assists the After Hours Program Director with class scheduling, communication and registration.  The liaison communicates the happenings of the After Hours Programming at the monthly meeting of the Middle School PTAC.

Enrichment Council Liaison
Volunteers are needed to support the Enrichment Council programs by greeting artists, verifying schedules and assisting with fundraising. The liaison communicates the efforts of the council at the monthly meeting of the Middle School PTAC.

School Council Liaison
The Liaison communicates the status of the School Improvement Plan, as well as additional efforts by the Council, at the monthly meeting of the Middle School PTAC. This person must be seated on School Council.

Recycling Liaison
The liaison communicates the efforts of the entire school community and recycling committee, to successfully recycle all available materials, at the monthly meeting of the Middle School PTAC.

Library Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to staff the library during school hours.  As requested, they assist the librarian with various duties and monitor the students who come into the library each day.  Volunteers will be trained in all aspects of running the library.

NAMS News
NAMS News is a monthly newsletter that is posted on the North Andover Middle School website the first of each month.  Additionally, each issue is electronically distributed to those who subscribe on the school website. This publication contains; letters from the School Principal and PTAC President, a Curriculum Corner, messages from the Guidance and Health Offices, information regarding all upcoming PTAC and School related activities as well as community events of interest to our school community and a monthly calendar.  Submissions should be sent to MAryBeth Masterson at mbmasterson@verizon.net  by the 20th of each month to be included in the next newsletter.
