Where are the programs located and what are the times?:

Programs are at Franklin and Sargent Schools.

AM Sessions:   8:30 - 11:00 a.m.

PM Sessions:   12:00 - 2:30 p.m.

What is the cost for the 2.5 hour program?:

$260.00 per month or $2600.00 per year.

Do we have full day programming?:

We do not have full day programs for our integrated programs.

How do we apply?:

There is an application online.  You can either e-mail back to the Preschool Coordinator or mail it to the address specified.  You will then be placed on the waiting list and notified as soon as there is an opening.

Is the program filled for Sepember of 2008?:

Yes, at this time the program is filled.  However, we do very often get openings in the summer or fall so you are welcome to apply and be placed on the waiting list.

What programs are available for children identified with special needs?:

We have the following programs:  integrated preschools; programs for children diagnosed on autism spectrum; program for children with significant medical/physical needs; and related services only.

What do you do if you suspect your child might have special needs?:

Is there a nurse for the Preschool CUBS?:

Yes, there is a nurse available to all preschool children.  We are able to handle children with significant medical needs.

Is there a new building being  built and if so, where will it be?:

Yes, there is a new, free standing building being built just for our Preschool CUBS program. It will be on the property of Atkinson School and we are aiming to open in September of 2009.

If a child is currently in the CUBS program, does a sibling automatically get in?:

No, you need to fill out an application as soon as possible for a sibling to be considered in the program. We suggest that you do this as soon as possible, even if you do not end up using the slot!

What time is dismissal on Curriculum Half Days?

School will be dismissed at 11:00 AM on Curriculum Half Days.

What do I do if my child is sick?

Parents may call the school at anytime to report an absent child, the earlier the better.  The answering machine is on 24 hours a day to leave messages.  The school will usually call the parent if a child is absent and no notification is given.  Children must bring a written note explaining the reason for the absence when they return to school.  Please notify the school nurse whenever a child is sick with a contagious disease (e.g. Chicken Pox, Strep Throat).

Can I go directly to my child's classroom if I will be visiting school?

You must check in with the office first and obtain a visitors badge.  When dropping off items, please deliver them to the office and your child will be called.

What should I do if my child needs to take medication during the school day?

Please obtain a MEDICATION POLICY from the school nurse which indicates the process to be followed before medication will be dispensed. In order to insure safety, NO MEDICATIONS (prescription or non-prescription) and/or vitamins/vitamin supplements are to be transported to school by the children.  The school nurse will dispense all medications.

How can I find out if school will be closed or delayed due to inclement weather?
