NAHS Hosts 2nd Annual Robotics Qualifying Competition
For the 2nd year, NAHS will be hosting a Robotics Qualifying Competition on Saturday January 14th. Twenty teams from MA will be competing in the 2012 First Tech Challenge Bowled Over!. Five competing teams will earn a spot in the MA State Finals on March 10. Teams include some local favorites: Andover High School, Brooks School, St. John's Prep, and North Andover High School. Stan Limpert, NA School Committee member and George Perna, both retired engineers who live in North Andover are actively helping team adviser Mike Motherway organize and prepare for competition. Fourteen plus engineers will be on site to judge. NAHS graduates of classes 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2011, NAHS team members and members of the NAHS National Honor Society are volunteering for the day to judge, emcee, announce, and run the event for the day. NAHS Chorus will sing the National Anthem during Opening Ceremony at 10am.
Matches start at 10:30 and will run until 4:30pm. The event will be in the NAHS gym and cafeteria and is open to the public. Families are encouraged to bring children to see what robotics in North Andover is all about.
