Presidents' Message

Hello Everybody,

We hope you all had a wonderful three day weekend. As detailed in previous Monday Minutes, we had our monthly PTO meeting last Wednesday, where nominations were submitted for board positions for next year. Elections will occur at our May PTO meeting on Wed, 5/2/12. There is still an opportunity to run for an office. Please let one of the officers know you would like to be on the ballot or email sargentpto.pres1@gmail.com . You will see further information about the upcoming election and the ability to cast an absentee ballot in a future communication from the Sargent PTO.

As a reminder, this Wednesday is a half day.

Have a great week.

Thanks, Chris and Melissa

This is the first screening of this film in the area!

Fifth Grade Committee

Fifth Grade Committee Meeting:

Our next meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10th at 10 AM in the Sargent Cafeteria. Our big agenda items will be Empathy Team kickoff, Class Gift planning, and Brooks Day. If you have any questions, please contact Kim at KimHearst@comcast.net

Empathy Team:

Time to start gathering your old suitcases, duffle bags and book bags. Our 5th grade class will be holding a drive to collect bags for Suitcases4Kids, an organization founded by our own Sargent parent Ron Nickerson. (check out www.suitcases4kids.org). “In almost every musty basement, garage, or attic, there is an old, forgotten suitcase that has long since been replaced by shiny new luggage. And all around the country, when foster children are forced to move their belongings, they throw them in trash bags, putting their prized possessions into containers for garbage”. Let’s help Suitcases4Kids help these children move with dignity. Our drive will be held on Saturday, April 28th on the Sargent Grounds. Look for flyers coming home soon.
