Welcome to our Fun Run 2012!  The Fun Run is fun and fit activity for all students at the Sargent School which helps us raise the money we need to support our fundraising goals. This run encourages students to walk/run as many laps as they can in 25 minutes - while creating a sense of school spirit!  Many staff members take part in the event, as well, running and or walking along side their students.

The Fun Run will take place on October 11th

(Rain date is October 17th)

This is the primary fundraiser at Sargent for the year!  Our fundraising goal for this year is $30,000.  100% of these funds go directly to our school and enable us to provide funding for many important programs such as classroom enhancements, teacher support, playground support, family fun nights, and many more valuable activities. This year, Dr. Foster is making computers available to all classes in the library.  Additional funds raised will help support the technology enhancements and purchase software needed to increase our children’s computer literacy!

Here’s how it works: At assigned grade level times on October 11th, students will run/walk laps around a designated area of the Sargent School field for a 25 minute time period, 1 lap = 1/10 of a mile.  Each time students complete a lap, they will be given a mark on their lap card.  Marks will be totaled and pledge sheets tallied; students will get their tallied pledge sheets back so that they can collect pledges the following week.

If it happens to rain on October 11th, then, the Fun Run will be held on October 17th.

  • What Do I Need To Do: Last year, we raised an average of $30 per student.  Our goal this year is $40 per student.  Students will ask friends and family to be sponsors. Sponsors are those wonderful folks who agree to pledge a monetary donation for student participation in the Fun Run.  Getting sponsors is your most important job because it is the sponsors who are donating money to our school.  This is probably easier than you think - most people are happy to help!  The key is to ask.

Please Note: All students will participate in the Fun Run regardless of whether they provide sponsors or not. Everyone will be given a special water bottle (BPA free and made from recycled materials) as a thank you for participating.  Prizes will be given to students who raise the most money, but everyone who raises money will be entered into a raffle for a special prize.   Please see the website for this year’s prizes!

How Do I Complete The Pledge Form:  On the back of this paper is the Student Fun Run Pledge Form.  Family and friends of participating students are invited to make pledges per lap, or flat donations.  All donations are tax-deductable!
