Presidents' Message

Thank you to all who helped to make the Art Fair and Spring Ice Cream Social an enjoyable evening for all - what a great night!

Our last general PTO meeting of the year is this Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00. Officers for next year will be elected and this is the last opportunity we will have to vote for any unbudgeted expenditures. We hope you will join us!

Walk To School Day is May 11. We hope you will encourage your children to gather at one of the designated meeting spots and walk to school.

The documentary, "The Race to Nowhere" is being shown at the North Andover Middle School on Monday, May 16th at 7pm. It's a film about how children have enormous pressures on them to perform and excel (vs. learn and have fun) and the consequences of that on their health and well-being. Click here for more information and how to buy tickets.

Hope you have a great week!

Kim and Chris

Committee Announcements:

Art Show and Ice Cream Social  Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for helping make the Art Show and Ice Cream Social and great success this year.

Extra special thanks go to Mrs. Shannon Hassell who started matting and tagging art work way back in September. This year we had over 1,400 pieces of art work on display from about 620 students and she had her hand on every single one! Thank you also for coordinating all of the volunteers hanging all of that work. You all did a fantastic job in record time this year!

Also, a great big thank you to all of the ice cream scoopers and volunteers in the cafeteria, as well as our great custodial staff (Thanks Ann !). Mrs Scandore, Mrs. Frackleton, Mrs. Antczak, Ms. Stuffle and Mr. Gregiore......Rest those arms up for next year!

5th Grade Committee 2012:  Attention all 4th Grade Parents! We have set up planning meetings for next year’s 5th Grade events and we need your input. We have meetings the week of May 9th. Our morning meeting is at 9:15 AM on Tuesday May 10th in the Sargent Cafeteria, the evening meeting is Wednesday May 11th at 7 PM, also in the cafeteria. Come to the most convenient meeting and provide input for what the Sargent Class of 2012 can do to celebrate and give back during their last year in Elementary School!

We will learn about this year’s 5th Grade Activities and set up a plan for providing input for next year. This is your chance to make a difference for next year’s class. 5th Grade Committee Board Members needed! Send questions and comments to SargentClass2012@gmail.com. Thank you!
