Presidents' Message

We hope the teachers and staff enjoyed all the breakfasts, lunch and student made thank-you's. Laura Freedman and Doreen Sidell's coordination efforts and long hours putting it all together are much appreciated - you both did a fabulous job. And thanks to all the Sargent parents that volunteered their time in working with the students and in baking for the staff - you all made it a special week at Sargent.

The principal search is well underway and we will be interviewing perspective candidates this week. Thank you to all the parents and staff who offered their input through the surveys. We will do our best to make sure all your voices are heard.

Thank you to Lynne Khater for organizing our Walk to School Day this past Wednesday and all who joined in on walking. Too bad the weather wasn't more cooperative.

Lastly, don't forget this Monday night, May 16th, is the showing of "The Race to Nowhere" at 7pm in the North Andover Middle School. Hope you can attend this worth-while movie.

Have a great week!!!
Kim and Chris

Andover Zero Waste Day:This Saturday, May14th from 9AM-12PM.  Rear parking lot of Brickstone Square on York Street in Andover. For more information on acceptable items and the benefiting local charities click here.
Green Tip of the Week:   Ditch the Paper Towels
Kick the paper towel habit and invest in some micro fiber clothes. These durable clothes have a texture that makes quick work of wiping up sticky stuff and can be reused over & over! Some come color coded for different household jobs and are designed specifically for different uses. You might not even need to use cleaning products to remove that gunk --- they work incredibly well with just a little warm water!

Community Announcements/After School Programs

"The Race to Nowhere" is a film about how children have enormous pressures on them to perform and excel (vs. learn and have fun) and the consequences of that on their health and well-being.   The film challenges our current assumptions on how to best prepare our children to become healthy, bright, and contributing citizens.  It will be shown North Andover Middle School TONIGHT -  Monday, May 16th at 7pm. Please consider attending and bring a friend!  Buy your tickets now.

Clear out the attic and join in the fun!  North Andover Sustainability Committee (NASC) announces our 5th Annual Town-Wide Yard Sales Event.  Plan your own yard sale for June 25 (and /or June 26) and let us do your advertising for only $10.00. Last year 50+ North Andover homes held yard sales with our help.  Download a registration form.
