Ice Cream Social Our annual Welcome Back Ice Cream Social will be this Thursday evening from 5:30-8pm. There will be no charge for this event but we will be handing out tickets that evening for those who would like a bowl of ice cream. In order to make this event successful, we still need volunteers to help out setting up and serving. Please consider donating an hour of your time - email sargentpto.pres1@gmail.com if you can help out.
Library The library is opening next week! It is not too late to sign on to volunteer though, simply click here to be added to the schedule. If you haven't filled out a CORI form in the past 3 years, please stop by the office and complete one. Please contact Kristi Hale at kristikhale@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
We are also looking for monthly donations of current children's magazines. Once your child has finished with it, please consider sending it in for other students to enjoy! Copies may be left in the "Library" inbox in the office.
Directory Complete your information electronically this year! Watch your e-mail for directory information this week. All information and directions will be included in the communication. We are requesting that everyone check their information for accuracy and respond to the indicated site no later than 9/21/2011.
Green Team Recycling old sneakers.... All that back to school shopping leave you with unwanted sneakers at home. There is a permanent recycling bin in Calzetta Hall. Instead of throwing them in the trash think about recycling them.
Landscaping/Woodlands Building Respectful Communities / R.A.I.S.E: Please help us teach our students to Respect the Sargent School and give Service to their community! Bring your student, and the whole family, to the annual Sargent Fall Cleanup on Sunday, September 25th from 8am to noon. Come for the entire time or come for just an hour; every little bit helps. We will be cleaning up the school grounds, planting seasonal flowers, and working to clear fallen brush/trees from our Woodland Study Area paths to make sure this outdoor classroom is ready for use by the teachers. We will supply coffee/donuts, water, and bags for leaf and litter cleanup. Pizza will be served for the volunteers at noon. Please bring your own work gloves and hand tools (e.g., rakes, trowels/cultivators, clippers/loppers, weed whackers, shovels, wheelbarrows, etc.). If you own a landscape company or other business with access to power tools, please consider donating time and/or equipment for this important effort. If you are able to supply power tools, or if you have any questions about the cleanup, please contact Patty Passariello at passariellop@wseinc.com.
