  • Happy New Year! This year, Atkinson students are looking forward to a long list of RAISE-related activities that will make their scholastic experiences wicked awesome. We know the A stands for achievement and connects directly to the academic efforts being made in classrooms on reading, writing (Lucy Calkins) and mathematics (Eureka). It's exciting to see the growth across all areas K-5 as teachers become more familiar with new curricula and as students apply their new knowledge and skills. The RAISE Reps will be planning fun and meaningful social and service activities in the coming months. In late January, we will have our "New Year's Ball" to celebrate the changing calendar together. It's a fancy dress-up spirit day ...

  • Busy Fall of Service The Atkinson PTO families, students and school staff have put in a lot of time this fall delivering on our promises to serve the community. We recently had our first Holidays Night of Giving to support North Andover families who have asked for assistance this season. It was an enormous amount of work for all involved, but so worth it! We appreciate how our PTO has continued to strive to build in community events that support our school while also leaving time for families to spend at home together. This balance is important and seems to be really working well. We've also collected letters and sweets that we sent to the troops after our Halloween trick or treating. The ...

  • Great Energy! We've had some really great experiences lately that involve our students and families, like Glow Run 3.0, our pep rally, NAHS football game, Knights on the Run, our PTO meetings, the fall book fair and "Trunk or Treat," a couple of enrichment shows, safety drills and more. September and October have been very busy, but very fun for the community. Thanks for your support with all of it!

  • Positive Home-School Communication Atkinson staff takes pride in responding to parent & guardian concerns in a timely and respectful manner. When a school problem arises that relates to your child, the following process should be followed: Contact your child's teacher first. Depending on what was shared at home, the teacher will often be able to provide another side of a story that brings about understanding. If a student is having a hard time with content or peers, our teachers are famous for making adjustments to their instruction or management to help students in any way they can. Contact the principal next. Often, the issue could be a larger one that extends beyond a child's particular classroom. It might be a concern about ...

Atkinson Elementary School is an inclusive learning environment growing with positive energy and effort. Our school community embraces the philosophy and goals of North Andover Public Schools around academic and social expectations. Our mission is to cultivate a safe, respectful community of students who can critically-think and communicate effectively while preparing for their next levels of learning.

Atkinson School is the “Home of the All-Stars," but it’s also the birthplace of our town's RAISE values: Respect, Achievement, Inclusion, Service & Empathy. Our students are encouraged to be high achievers and productive citizens and to demonstrate RAISE values everyday. Atkinson educators present our children opportunities for academic and social-emotional growth that build on our community values and beliefs.

We expect our 430 students to be the all-stars of today and tomorrow; good and smart people who lead by example. As a community of talented teachers and supportive families, we'll be RAISE-ing the bar as high as we can for our children in developmentally appropriate ways on academic, social and emotional learning for years to come. Go All-Stars! RAISE Your Game!
