Traffic Changes PHASE 2

posted Mar 27, 2018, 5:44 AM by Greg Landry   [ updated Apr 11, 2018, 4:10 AM ]

Another small change to traffic will happen after April vacation. At that time, no more NAMS vehicles (cars/buses) will be exiting through Atkinson and Beacon Hill Boulevard. Only ECC and Atkinson will use that road. Fewer cars moving through the yard is should be an improvement. Also, we believe all construction vehicles will be entering the expanded construction area through 125 or NAMS.

We appreciate all the work families have done to adjust to our changes. Overall, things have gone very well. In fact, afternoon dismissal has been quicker by almost 5 minutes and morning arrival has only had only one day with any kind of back-up from Mass Ave.

Please continue to keep your eyes peeled when entering the school grounds; there are always pedestrians nearby and most of the time they're students. Follow the rules of the road, especially when the school buses are stopped in front of the school. Continue to be patient and we'll get your through in good time. Thanks, everyone!

PHASE 1 Message

Starting Thursday afternoon March 29, you will notice an increase in the number of vehicles coming through Atkinson and out Beacon Hill Boulevard. This is because the kindergarten construction project is beginning.

Atkinson’s car lines won’t change, but for the remainder of the year, buses will drop-off and pick-up at our FRONT door.

We expect that this will cause some delay in the morning and afternoon. We ask you to please be patient and always consider student safety as you move through the campus.

Please be extra vigilant and watch for staff directing kids through the car lines during the morning and afternoon “rush hours.”

Because of the potential delays with car drop-off, we encourage families to have students walk or ride a bike safely to school whenever possible.

All other dismissal patrols will stay the same.

If you have any questions or concerns, please join us for our PTO meeting on Thursday night at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Dr. Price and Assistant Superintendent Mealey will be there to discuss the kindergarten project and traffic flow, as well as, about the upcoming changes to NAMS and Atkinson fields.
