For kindergarten families: please keep an eye out for an email that was sent today Sept 18th asking you to participate in a survey. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has asked school districts around the state to learn more about students' preschool education. The link in this email is unique to your student, so please use the one that was sent you. Thank you for your participation!

Traffic Flows **Updated with Video and Diagrams**

posted Sep 1, 2018, 5:30 PM by Hillary Stasonis   [ updated Sep 4, 2018, 4:24 PM ]

The following traffic patterns have been updated as of September 4th, 2018.

Traffic Flows with Opening of Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center (ABECC)

Please take note of the traffic flows for the new Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center (ABECC), the Middle School, and Atkinson Elementary. We ask your patience as we work through these new patterns, especially at the new school. We have created a video that demonstrates the new pattern for the ABECC, and we will have plenty of staff on site to help direct traffic and to implement any changes that could improve flow. We thank you for your patience and welcome your input.

Atkinson Elementary - pick up and drop off will remain the same as it was at the end of last year. Cars and buses will enter through Phillips Brooks and will follow the directions of staff, then will proceed out Beacon Hill Rd. onto Mass. Ave.

Middle School
 - those vehicles (cars and buses) that were exiting out Beacon Hill or onto Rte. 125 at the end of last year will now all exit out onto Rte. 125. They must turn left at the top of the road leading up to the ABECC, then turn right onto Rte. 125. Exiting onto Rte. 125 will remain a Right Turn Only. Cars will still be able to exit out to Parker Street as well.

Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center (ABECC)
 - cars and buses will enter the Middle School from Main Street. Cars will drive to the right of the Middle School and then around the back to access the road up to the ABECC. Cars will be restricted to the right lane as they make their way up to the parking lot. Cars will then proceed around the outside of the parking lot and will follow directions from staff for drop off and pick up. They will then turn right out of the parking lot and exit onto Rte. 125 (Right Turn Only). Buses (and ONLY buses) will travel around the left of the Middle School and use the left lane heading up to the ABECC. They will discharge in the bus loop on the side of the building and then exit onto Rte. 125 (Right Turn Only). There will be no entry into the site from Rte. 125. Preschool parents are asked to not join the drop off cue in the morning until 8:35 because they will not be able to drop off until that time and joining the cue prior to 8:35 will slow down the drop off for Kindergarten students.

Bus Transportation Information

posted Aug 30, 2018, 5:44 PM by Hillary Stasonis

  • Kindergartners who reside in the Atkinson, Franklin, Kittredge, and Thomson School districts will ride on the same buses as the the grade 1-5 students (bus numbers indicated on the top of each route posted on the Bus Routes page). These buses will go FIRST to those elementary schools and then continue to the Anne Bradstreet ECC, which has a later starting time than the elementary schools.

  • Those Kindergartners who reside in the Sargent School district will ride, depending on their street address, either Anne Bradstreet ECC bus 14 or Anne Bradstreet ECC bus 22 (see the Bus Routes page).

  • If you have not received your bus pass, please email mccarthyl@northandoverpublicschools.com. Do not worry if you do not have your bus pass in time for the first day of school, bus drivers and kindergarten teachers will have up to date student rosters available. If you are unsure which elementary school district you are assigned to, you can look your address up using the elementary street matrix.

All school supplies may be brought to school on Tuesday, September 4th for the class visit day.

Please park at the Middle School only.

Dear Families,

Soon your child will begin kindergarten at the new Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center. We hope your summer has been restful and relaxing and your child is looking forward to the first day of school. Below are copies of the papers that were sent in a mailing home last week. They contain important notifications regarding your child's first few days of kindergarten. The kindergarten teachers are all excited to meet their new group of students. Please read everything carefully and keep these papers in a safe place so you can refer to them again prior to the start of school. We can't wait to welcome you and your child to the Anne Bradstreet ECC.

We both bring to North Andover years of experience working with young children and families.

Shortly you will receive information about the beginning of the school year as well as your child’s teacher assignment.

Please continue to follow the progress of the school by subscribing to the Anne Bradstreet Blog and getting the answers to your many questions at our website, including FAQs on both preschool and kindergarten
