The Stevens Memorial Library and the North Andover Public Schools have partnered to create a One Author, One Community program to North Andover. Our goal is to have every citizen in our community read a work by a single author, in order to create a feeling of community and a love of literature across all generations and backgrounds. Our author this year is Jacqueline Woodson, an acclaimed author of books for children, teens and adults.
On Monday, November 28th, Jacqueline Woodson will be speaking to the 3-5th graders about her experiences as an author. That evening, a public presentation will take place at 6pm, followed by a book signing. Further details on these events will be forthcoming. We will also be hosting community events around various topics related to Ms. Woodson’s books.
Want to get involved? We are currently seeking sponsors for our author visit, as well as prospective hosts for community events. For more information, please check out the One Author, One Community website at: 1a1c.northandoverpublicschools.com.
Welcome back to school, everyone! The year has started off with high energy and lots of fun! Each year there is a time period for parents to come in, meet their child's teacher, and get an understanding of what curriculum and classroom procedures will be followed for the current school year. This is a parents-only event, but it is NOT a one-on-one parent conference time but rather a group presentation. Parent Conferences are in November (more on that later!). Below is the schedule for when each grade level's open house is being conducted. Feel free to arrive at the school 15 minutes before your assigned time and head into the cafeteria to meet the PTO board, sign up for some events, and get welcomed back by yours truly, Mr. Clarke!

Hey Hey Hey, Franklin Families! Below, I have attached a copy of the Dismissal Form for you to fill out. This form enables us to know how to send your child home safely. If at any point throughout the year you need to change the dismissal plan for a day or two, please send in a note to your child's teacher that morning alerting him/her of the change for the day. If your plan is changing permanently though, please fill out the form and send it in to your child's teacher again. Thanks for your cooperation!
As we have done for a few years now, we are utilizing our School Messenger email system to notify all NAPS elementary-aged children of their teacher/class assignments for the 2016-2017 academic school year. This will be communicated through the family email addresses on file in our PowerSchool system. Each email will be child/family specific and will not contain a complete class listing. In addition, class lists will not be posted at the school. These emails will be sent out on Monday, August 22, 2016.
Please check out the suggested supply lists from each grade level below. Due to a lot of research and careful consideration, we are asking that if you are planning on sending in any type of disinfectant wipes, please avoid sending any in with bleach or harsh anti-bacterial chemical agents. Please try to select products that are more naturally derived and do not contain bleach. Thank you for helping to keep our school minty-fresh and free of harsh chemicals!

A copy of the 2015-16 North Andover Elementary School Policy Handbook is posted below. It has a great deal of useful information including entries on: attendance, discipline, health, food policies, homework and PTO. Some entries are intended for parents; others should be read and shared with students. Our goal is to have all families aware of our district procedures and policies. Please take time to review and familiarize yourself with the handbook.
