I hope this update finds you all doing well! I can't believe we're down to the last few days of school already! This year has certainly flown by. We have been able to celebrate so much this year through our accomplishments centered around our RAISE initiative!
R - We have worked very hard on learning more about the power of respect through our interactions with others every day, our teachers working tirelessly on helping us understand what it truly means to give and get respect, and we've spent quite a bit of time focusing on the "R" in our Clarke's Classrooms, which were new this year!
A - As always, the Dragons never cease to amaze me. Each and every day all of our students come in, work hard, and have positive attitudes. We say it all the time, but as long as you try your best, we'll all be proud of you, and we are!
I - When we got the new playground this year, we also were lucky enough to have a Buddy Bench installed, and this has been the backbone of our Inclusion talks and lessons this year. I have seen countless students go up to people sitting on the bench and ask them to join in on their group activities. What a great way to meet and make new friends!
S - Where do I begin? The Bruins PJ Drive, Food Drive, Warm Clothing Drive, Personal Care Drive, Reading Buddy playground clean-up, and the list goes on and on. We have such a generous and selfless community! I look forward to seeing what good we bring to the world next year!
E - Sometimes the hardest of which to show a product. Again, our teachers and staff do a tremendous job at teaching our students how to take everyone's perspective into account in any situation. Albus Dumbledore once told Harry Potter, "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." We try to foster a sense of understanding and respect in each of our students so that they can make the right choices, AND when they don't to take ownership over their choices and learn from them. Our Franklin Dragons excel at making the right choices, even when the right choice isn't always the easy one.
I hope you have all had a fantastic year; I know I did! Have a great summer and we'll see you in September!
