Dear Grade 8 Students and Families,

Our annual grade 8 trips to Nature’s Classroom are quickly approaching and we wanted to make sure that we shared important information regarding this upcoming trip. The dates of this year’s Annual Grade 8 Trip to Nature’s Classroom are as follows:

Team 8A - October 15-17, 2018

Team 8B - October 17-19, 2018

Team 8C - October 22-24, 2018

All of our Grade 8 Teams will be going to the Nature's Classroom Site in Ocean Park, ME.

You can learn more about the site and about the programming at Nature's Classroom here.

Preparing for the trip:

1. All families should have registered for the trip online or by completing a paper registration packet.

2. All families should have completed and returned a North Andover Field Trip Permission form.  You may find this form here.

3. Payments should be made payable to North Andover Public Schools.  The cost of this trip is $230. Please contact Ms. Raimondo if you are requesting a scholarship at

4. If you child will be taking medication during the trip, the medicine administration form should be completed and returned.  You may find this form here.

Supply List

Please be sure to review the suggested equipment list for this trip here.  This will prove extremely useful when packing for the trip.  Students should pack all of their belongings into one bag if possible since there will be limited room on the buses.

Students may not bring food with them.

No cell phones or other electronics are allowed.

If students need to make a call a contact person will be available for them in order for them to utilize a phone.

You many also call Nature’s Classroom directly if you have a concern or question.

The office number is: 1-508-248-2741 or 1-800-433-8375

If your child is attending Nature’s Classroom, students should be dropped off at the school starting at 8:00 a.m. with their luggage and supplies. Students should not ride the bus to school on the day of their departure with their luggage and supplies.

Medication must be turned into the medication box upon arrival to school.  One of our nurses will be collecting medication on the day of departure. All medication must come in original containers.  All medication and medication forms will be delivered to the Nurse at the Nature’s Classroom site upon our arrival.

Buses will be leaving at 8:30 a.m., so please be on time.

TEAM 8A & TEAM 8B Buses are due back at approximately 1:30 p.m.

TEAM 8C Buses are due back at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Students returning from Nature’s Classroom may not enter NAMS upon their return to school.

We are asking that parents/guardians drive up the entrance and all the way around to the back parking lot. The buses will be coming in from the back entrance on Parker Street.

Students must go home with a parent/guardian.  If you are unable to pick your child up, please send a note to acknowledge that they will be getting a ride  home from a specific relative or friend.

There is not enough room on our school buses for students to ride their regular bus home with their luggage at dismissal.

If you sent medication with your child, please also pick that up from one of the chaperones.

Thank you,

Jorge Goncalves
