Planning for Grade 8 End-of-Year Events

Promotion/Awards Ceremony

The Promotion/Awards Ceremony will be a recorded video that will be shared with families on the evening of Thursday, June 11, 2020. We will be creating a Promotion/Awards Ceremony video for Team 8A, Team 8B, and Team 8C. Each video will be shared with each student and parent/guardian on that team. Since it is a video, you can watch it at any time you wish.


NAMS Class of 2020 Car Parade

Our Car Parade for our NAMS Class of 2020 will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 according to the following times:

  • Team 8A begins at 10:00 a.m.

  • Team 8B begins at 10:40 a.m.

  • Team 8C begins at 11:20 a.m.

You are all invited to attend! I would encourage you to arrive by 9:30 a.m. and ask that you park in the back parking lot. You may find all of the maps related to the Car Parade here. Here are some details regarding the event.

  • Grade 8 students will be asked to sit on the passenger side of the car and all staff can stand on that side of the driveway/road. 

  • Families will be informed of the following:

  • Where to line up, see maps above.

  • Keep hazard lights on.

  • Do not drive faster than 10 miles per hour.

  • Do not stop when driving around the school for any reason.

  • Please remain inside of the vehicle at all times.

  • Keep a car’s length between you and the vehicle in front of you.

  • Please keep your eyes on the road, which will prove challenging when our staff are waving to our students.

  • Proceed to NAHS after exiting the Car Parade to pick up students’ Class of 2020 Bags and any personal belongings that were not picked up at the school.

Distribution of Promotion Certificates, Awards, Class of 2020 Pictures, T-Shirts, and Personal Belongings Not Previously Picked Up

  • After families drive through the Promotion Parade, they will be directed to the parking lot near the track in front of NAHS, see maps.

  • The front parking lot at NAHS next to the track has 3 sections. Families will be directed into 1 of 3 sections according to the last name of their child:

  • A-G (Left Section of Parking Lot)

  • H-O (Center Section of Parking Lot)

  • P-Z (Right Section of Parking Lot)

  • There will be tables there and at least 2 staff members per section to distribute students' belongings to the student on the passenger side of the vehicle. Tents will be set up to protect staff from the sun and rain too, if applicable.

  • After students get their bags, families can exit out of the gate by taking a right onto 125 or exit left along the back of NAHS and exit the parking lot where they entered.
