Kindergarten Options
- One-half day kindergarten program
Our traditional one-half day kindergarten classes are currently housed at the neighborhood elementary schools. - Extended kindergarten program
This is the other traditional North Andover program that is available to parents for a user fee. As in the past, we expect to fill two full kindergarten classes (44 students total). This program is operated by Community Programs (Mr. Rick Galante, Director). - Full-day kindergarten program
A full-day kindergarten program is also being offered in North Andover. The annual tuition for full-day kindergarten is $3,000. Some families may qualify for free or reduced tuition. The annual reduced tuition will be determined once all the proper paperwork in completed. Please note we determine eligibility on the sliding scale from the Department of Early Education and Care (ECC). - For more information or if you have questions about any of the kindergarten programs, please call or email Mr. John McAleer at 978-794-1545.
We would like to highlight some important issues for you:
- Kindergarten Busing
The busing policy approved by the School Committee, provides busing at no cost to K-6 families who live more than two miles from their assigned school. In August, you will receive more information about busing, the bus stops and the pick-up/drop-off time schedule. This information will also be published in our local newspapers. - Classroom Assignments
All kindergarten screening and enrollment are being examined this summer by the School Department. In early August, we expect to notify you of your child’s classroom teacher. Information from parents and school records are valuable resources we will use to balance our kindergarten classes. - Before/After-school Care
Please note that should your child require Before or After School Care, this option is available to you through Community Programs for an additional fee. Please contact Rick Galante or Karen Conlon at 978-794-3080 for information.
Registration for these programs will be available after April 15, 2007 for the 2007-2008 school year.
