Thomson Academic and Arts Night - I was thrilled to see so many parents turn out for the Academic/Arts event. Our students were very excited to share academic and artwork with their families. The musical performances were great. Special thanks to all of our staff, especially Ms. Kriz and Ms. Dragosits for helping make the night a special one.
 
PTO Updates:  
PTO Meeting...the next PTO meeting will be held  on Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 pm...this will be the last meeting of the year!  We will be voting on next year’s PTO Board.  Please attend and cast your vote!

Save the Date...Friday, June 12th...Thomson School Fun Run open to all grades....watch Pawprints for more information on this fun event!!


FIELD DAY!!  Heads Up – Field Day has been scheduled for June!!!!  The actual day is Friday, June 5th with a rain date of June 12th.  There will be a request for volunteers, as the day gets closer.  We will need volunteers to help run the games as well as proved refreshments for the children.

Award-Winning Storyteller To Visit Thomson - Students at Thomson will watch an award-winning storyteller perform music and tell stories on June 3rd. The show, which is sponsored by the North Andover Schools Enrichment council, features Odds Bodkin, a multi-voiced character actor and instrumentalist. Odds begins his show with beautiful harp music, setting a calm and mystical atmosphere, then proceeds to tell three multicultural stories accompanied by guitars, harp, drums, an Indian sitar, and other instruments. The 8th Annual North Andover Special Olympics Track and Field School Day Games will be held on Thursday May 28th, 2009 at the High School Gymnasium from 8:30am to 12:00pm.  Parents and friends are welcome to attend this fun-filled event to cheer on our very special North Andover athletes! This event is sponsored by the Town of North Andover, the Special Olympics of Massachusetts and the North Andover Parent Advisory Council for Children with Special Needs. “A Glimpse of Europe” Open House  
Rolling Ridge Retreat, North Andover MA

June 7, 2009 * 10 am -3 pm (Rain Date: June 14).  
Enjoy a relaxing walk among spectacular lake views, an Italian bowling green, cascading fountains, rolling hills and wooded trails on a European-styled estate on the shores of North Andover’s Lake Cochichewick!  Meet local artists painting and creating art or take your own photos in a beautiful pastoral setting.  Participate in art activities for kids and view artwork at a public reception, 2-3 pm.  Free admission * $5 for kids’ art activity. Sponsored by Rolling Ridge, Andover’s Artists Guild and North Andover Cultural Council.

The North Andover Schools' Enrichment Council (a non-profit volunteer group that funds art, music and science performances in the schools) is seeking several key volunteers for the 2009-2010 calendar year. The group meets monthly and is looking for volunteers to assist with booking performances, publicity, fundraising and accounting.  For more information please contact Lydia
