The School Department had a busy summer preparing for the upcoming school year. There were a number of new staff hired including teachers, teaching assistants, custodians, administrators, and food services personnel along with many Professional Development offerings for staff. The district welcomed Ms. Pamela Lathrop to the Leadership team. She is the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning, replacing Lorene Marx, who has retired.
Our school building projects are on schedule as part of Facilities Master Plan II. Recently, the MSBA approved Kittredge School for a feasibility study and we will break ground on the Middle School addition/renovation that will take place in the next few weeks. We will be communicating more information about the NAMS project as it moves forward, especially as it pertains to the impact on the logistics around pick up and drop off.
We all look forward to welcoming your family back to our schools on August 30th. I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer.
Best,
Dr. Gregg T Gilligan
