NAPS Overview

The mission of North Andover Public Schools is to cultivate a respectful community of engaged learners, insightful thinkers, and effective communicators. We do this by providing a vibrant learning community for students in grades preschool through 12. We are committed to ensuring that all of our students are provided an equal opportunity to an excellent education. Our hope is that the strong educational foundation our students receive will allow them to access numerous opportunities beyond our walls.

Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center (ABECC)

North Andover’s kindergarten is a full-day, tuition free program. Our preschool program offers an appropriately structured and supportive learning environment for children of all abilities. The ABECC's dedicated staff work as a team to provide a safe environment and a rich curriculum whereby all children are encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, creatively, and physically.

Elementary Schools

North Andover houses five neighborhood elementary schools offering grades 1 through 5. Elementary school staff provide a caring, motivating environment optimizing opportunities for academic and social growth for all students. Schools set high expectations and offer meaningful learning experiences designed to engage all students.

North Andover Middle School

North Andover Middle School provides a developmental middle school approach to learning while recognizing individual learning styles and focusing on process writing, mathematics using manipulatives, and the inquiry approach in all subjects, including science and social studies. Classroom environments support critical and creative thinking, cooperative and individual learning with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary curriculum.

North Andover High School

NAHS operates on a semester schedule and offers a comprehensive Program of Studies including several unique learning opportunities such as the “Seat Availability Program” with Merrimack College where NAHS students can enroll, free of charge, in any class offered by Merrimack College with open seats. North Andover High School offers a variety of extracurricular and athletic activities. Additional information about NAHS can be found in the  NAHS School Profile.

Scarlet Knight Academy

The Scarlet Knight Academy is an alternative to our  traditional high school program, offering evening classes that are designed to meet the specific needs of individual students. Scarlet Knight Academy provides rigorous curriculum, delivered through dynamic instruction within small student-centered classes. With an emphasis on supporting the whole student, we strive to create an environment where individuals can take risks and challenge themselves both academically and personally.

Community Programs

North Andover’s Community Programs offers before/after school care at all elementary schools as well as extracurricular programs covering a wide array of areas including academics, sports and the arts. Efforts are directed toward developing a strong sense of community, with our Community Programs environment becoming “the neighborhood” to which the children return after school hours.

Building Respectful Community (BRC)

Civic and character education is vitally important to the development of well- rounded students. Our BRC Initiative highlights the values associated with RAISE:

Respect Achievement Inclusion Service Empathy
