Food Allergies
Management of Food Allergies in the School Setting
If your child has a life-threatening food allergy, please contact your school nurse to set-up a meeting to develop a care plan.
Emergency Care Plans:
- All students with life threatening food allergies will have a:
- FARE Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan
- Plan is to be completed and signed by the PCP or allergist and signed by the parents.
- The plan is kept in the Medication Book in the Health Office.
- Teachers of students with life threatening food allergies in their classes will be notified of the individual students.
- Teachers will share this information with substitute teachers in their substitute teacher folders.
